EF Showpiece School
EF School in the very heart of London is one of the places to study English in this traditional capital city of the English-speaking world. Its historical Victorian building has been renovated to provide an ideal learning environment and is equipped to meet today's educational standards. First class facilities include a modern language laboratory, an interactive multimedia centre, bright classrooms and a lively cafeteria. Outside, students make the most of the pleasure tree-lined courtyard. Just a short walk away are the shops and restaurants of Gabriel's Wharf and the South Bank arts centre.
In the Heart of a Great City
The school's ideal location, only 5 minutes walk from Waterloo Station makes it easy to reach from anywhere in the city -and an ideal starting point for exploring London's historic and cultural attractions: Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Covent Garden, the theatres and department stores of the West End, are all within walking distance. London also offers an unmatched variety of restaurants, cinemas, and beautiful concert halls to visit.
A Taste of London life
In your free time stroll through the colourful marketplace in Portobello Road: window shop in elegant Mayfair; applaud the street performers in Leicester square or enjoy Lunch in a typical English restaurant. You can see the sights of the city from the top deck of a London bus, practice your English in a political debate at Hyde Park Corner, or examine the latest fashions along Chelsea King's Road.
Family or University Accommodation
Year-round accommodation is offered in specially selected host families. In the summer, you can also stay in a local university residence. The school notice board provides an update for upcoming social activities, parties and sports events. As well as organising tours around London, your school Activities Coordinator will help you to explore the best of England. Day trips to the world's most beautiful cities of Oxford and Bath are organised regularly and a trip to Edinburgh- the capital of Scotland, or Dublin - the capital of Ireland is a nice way to spend a weekend.
