Choosing Your Course
Learning English with EF means that you make the choice of precisely how, when and where you study. Firstly, choose the right course for you from one of the five courses described below.

The Course Objective
The Intensive Course is designed for serious students who need to learn a Language for professional or academic reasons as quickly as possible. Teachers cover a wide-ranging syllabus, designed to develop your overall Linguistic skills and maximise your progress in the Language.
A Challenging Syllabus
A test enables School Director of Studies to place you in the correct class for your level. General Language Lessons concentrate on helping you to communicate in everyday Language, and conversation is encouraged by active participation in role play and group discussions. Written exercises expand your vocabulary as well as your grammatical knowledge. Your intonation and pronunciation will improve with each session in the Language Laboratory, and Lectures increase not only Listening comprehension but also cultural awareness.
Special Interest Lessons
Eight special Interest Lessons per week concentrate upon aspects of the Language relevant to your particular needs. Depending on your Language level and choice of school, you may choose options such as Business English, Literature, Culture and Customs, and Intensive Grammar.

The Course Objective
The Principal Course offers comprehensive tuition in the essential Language disciplines. Whether for Business purposes or personal growth, you will soon find yourself writing and speaking English with greater confidence and clarity.
The Content of the Course
After the grading test, you will study with other students of the same Language level. Experienced teachers use their own material as well as recognised textbooks to help you to communicate in varying situations. You will feel your confidence growing with each new structure practised and, as your understanding and fluency increase, you will be able to participate more and more in group discussions. Your comprehension and pronunciation will benefit from sessions in the Language Laboratory. Lecture Lessons will focus on current affairs or aspects of British culture.

At the start of your Course you will be able to choose from a range of special interest topics such as Pronunciation, Language in the Media or Grammar. Options vary from school to school, but at each school you will have the chance to personalise your course.

A Language Course and Vacation
If you want to have time to sightsee and learn English this summer, this is the Course to choose. Everything you learn in class will boost your studies but also add to your enjoyment of free time later in the day.
A Practical Emphasis
The Summer Course concentrates upon understanding and speaking the English Language in practical situations. Using role play and dialogues, teachers build your confidence and develop your speaking skills. Creative writing exercises expand vocabulary and reinforce new grammar. Tape - Recordings and Listening comprehension exercises are used to overcome your pronunciation difficulties and develop your listening skills.
Living with the Language
Learning a Language is enriched by seeing it in a cultural and historical perspective. This course allows you to study English and also take part in a large number of optional activities and excursions. You will visit a range of fascinating places as you soak up the country's history and culture.

Prepare yourself for an internationally recognised language proficiency examination sushi as the TOEFL/TOEIC ( minimum Upper Intermediate level of English language ), or one of Cambridge Proficiency Certificates ( Elementary to Academic Proficiency level of English ).

What are TOEFL/TOEIC?
The Test of English as a Foreign Language and the Test of English for International Communication are internationally recognised English Language exams. A high TOEFL score is needed for admission to most British universities and colleges. TOEIC is required by many businesses who need their employees to be familiar with commercial English. Our specially designed course can give you thorough exam preparation in as little as 8 weeks.
Preparing to Succeed
General English Lessons help to improve your Grammar and expand your range of Vocabulary. Work in the Language Laboratory and Lectures accustom you more to spoken English, so strengthening your comprehension skills. Eight additional classes teach the specific skills needed to attain a good TOEFL or TOEIC score. Teachers regularly use past papers to familiarise students with multiple choice formats and sharpen exam technique.
Test of English as a foreign Language (TOEFL) .......
Exam Dates : There are regular test dates for the TOEFL exam, with at least 2 sittings each month. Dates are available once you enrol in any course. TOEFL exams are strictly conducted in London and all bookings are done from your school.
Course Starting Dates: It is possible to begin a TOEFL Exam Course for 8, 12, 16, 20, or 24 Weeks on any Monday of the Year in any of the EF Schools in the United Kingdom.

The University of Cambridge Language Exams are internationally recognised by a wide range of academic and professional institutions. There are 4 progressive exams: Preliminary English (PET), First English (FCE), Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) and the Proficiency (CPE), the most advanced.
Practice Makes Perfect
This Course has been designed to give you the essential Language Skills that form the basis of the Cambridge Exams. Composition exercises help students to develop grammatical control and range of expressions. Reading classes develop syntax and broaden vocabulary. Weekly lectures and sessions in the Language Laboratory strengthen listening comprehension and pronunciation. Together, you and your classmates will complete exercises against the clock and concentrate on techniques that will help you pass your chosen exam with credit.
